2013 debut from Brooklyn's Lucius, built on the twin lead vocals of Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig. Mastered by Bob Ludwig.
Lucius built Wildewoman around Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig singing in unison, a sound Rolling Stone called fresh and thrilling. Bob Ludwig mastered it, and it reached No. 5 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart.
Lucius sound like two voices pretending to be one. Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig met at Berklee, moved to Brooklyn and built a band around their matched harmonies, dressing alike on stage so the effect was as visual as it was musical.
Wildewoman is their first full statement: girl-group swagger, indie-pop hooks and a little '60s soul. "Turn It Around" and the title track open in a rush; "Two Of Us On The Run" slows to a hush; "How Loud Your Heart Gets" closes with a slow build that fills the room. Mom + Pop put it out on October 15, 2013, with Dine Alone in Canada.
One of the most complete indie pop LPs this year.
