d.b.s.' final album on splatter vinyl with an alternate cover, remastered and resequenced with three extra songs, including the unheard "July Staring Contest".
This Dine Alone reissue remasters and resequences d.b.s.' last album and adds "The Ethics Of Camping", "Dogma Shmogma" and the previously unheard "July Staring Contest". It comes on splatter vinyl in an alternate cover made for this edition.
d.b.s. formed in North Vancouver in 1992, when its members were still in grade eight, and by the end of the decade they had grown from a scrappy skate punk band into something more ambitious. Cecil English produced Some Boys Got It, Most Men Don't at Profile Studios, and New Disorder Records issued it on CD in 1999.
Critics heard Lifetime, Kid Dynamite and even Converge in it; the acoustic turns of "...And Then I Awoke" and "Past Friendships" nod to The Promise Ring and Jawbreaker. "A Foundation For Positive Change" closes the album in a haze of feedback and piano, a hint of the sampled music Andy Dixon would make next.
