About the album

Old Crows / Young Cardinals is where Alexisonfire let the punk and rock'n'roll in. Recorded mostly at the Armoury in Vancouver with Julius Butty, it swaps some of the screamo chaos for grit and swing; the guitars sound like they belong in a bar band, and the songs breathe.

"Young Cardinals" is the rallying cry, a song about growing up in a small city and refusing to shrink; "The Northern" turns that idea into something wider and lonelier. "Born And Raised" and "Midnight Regulations" carry the same hometown pride.

It debuted at No. 81 on the Billboard 200, their best showing in the US. It would be their last full-length for thirteen years.
