About the album

Thirteen years is a long time between records, and Otherness sounds like a band that used every one of them. Alexisonfire produced it themselves at Jukasa Studios in Ohsweken, Ontario, and the songs stretch out: slower tempos, room for Dallas Green's voice to soar, room for the guitars to build into something closer to classic rock than screamo.

"Sweet Dreams Of Otherness" set the tone as the first single; "Sans Soleil" and "Reverse The Curse" followed, the latter a full-throated reminder that George Pettit can still flatten a room.

The album reached No. 4 in Canada and No. 3 on the UK independent chart. It took the JUNO for Rock Album of the Year in 2023.
