Alexisonfire's No. 1 Canadian album on a 180g 2LP set cut at 45 RPM, in a gatefold jacket with printed inner sleeves. Home of "This Could Be Anywhere In The World".
This 2LP spreads Crisis across four sides at 45 RPM on 180g vinyl, with printed inner sleeves carrying the lyrics. It debuted at No. 1 on the Canadian Albums Chart in 2006, went Platinum, and gave the band "This Could Be Anywhere In The World" and "Boiled Frogs".
Crisis is the record where Alexisonfire stopped sounding like a scene and started sounding like a band. Julius Butty produced it with them at Metalworks in Mississauga and Silo in Hamilton in early 2006, and the songs carry a new weight: tighter riffs, bigger choruses, a sense that the stakes had risen.
"This Could Be Anywhere In The World" became their signature, a song about the grind of touring that turned into a crowd chant; "Boiled Frogs" and "Rough Hands" pushed the screaming and the melody even further apart, and somehow closer together.
The LP sold more than 20,000 copies in its first week in Canada and reached No. 1. Twenty years on, it remains the centrepiece of their catalogue.
