About the album

Counterparts formed in Hamilton, Ontario in 2007, and by their seventh album they had turned melodic hardcore into something closer to a confessional. Will Putney produced, engineered, mixed and mastered A Eulogy For Those Still Here, and the record moves in short, brutal bursts; most songs land around three minutes, and almost none of them waste a second.

Brendan Murphy writes about the people (and, on "Whispers Of Your Death", the cat) who kept him going; he called the song a tribute to Kuma for "quite literally giving me a reason to live." The LP closes on "A Mass Grave Of Saints", one of the most climactic songs the band has put to tape.
