Indie Exclusive 2LP on milky clear with white vinyl of City and Colour's 2023 album, home of "Underground" and "Meant To Be".
This is the indie retail exclusive pressing, milky clear with white on two LPs. The album was Dallas Green's first City and Colour record in four years, and "Underground" climbed to No. 3 at Canadian rock radio.
The Love Still Held Me Near came out on March 31, 2023; Green co-produced it with Matt Kelly, and Jacquire King mixed it. Exclaim! called it a clear-eyed portrait of grief, and the songs do sit with loss honestly, but the record keeps reaching for light; the title says as much.
Musically it's a big, patient band record, full of long instrumental passages and heavy, slow-moving grooves. "Meant To Be" opens wide, "Fucked It Up" cuts loose, and "Begin Again" closes on a hopeful note.
