Double platinum second album from City and Colour on a single LP with the original artwork, home of "The Girl" and "Sleeping Sickness" with Gord Downie.
City and Colour's breakout went double platinum in Canada and reached No. 3 on the albums chart. It won Dallas Green the JUNO for Songwriter of the Year, and "Sleeping Sickness" brings in Gord Downie of The Tragically Hip.
Bring Me Your Love came out on February 12, 2008, and it is where City and Colour stopped being a side project. Green kept the acoustic guitar at the centre but let the room fill up: slide, harmonica, a little pedal steel, the band leaning in behind him.
The songs are about love's cost as much as its comfort. "The Girl" became a wedding-song staple, "Waiting..." carried the record onto the charts, and "Sleeping Sickness" pairs Green's falsetto with Gord Downie's unmistakable voice.
Dine Alone put the album on one LP in 2016 with the original artwork and a lyric insert; it's the edition fans reach for first.
