Yukon Blonde: On Blonde [DINE ALONE]

Why you'll love it

"Saturday Night" reached No. 11 on the Canadian alternative chart, and the album pairs indie guitars with '80s synths and big melodies. When The Horn Blows heard "an immediate hit of well-crafted, sugar-coated indie pop."

About the album

On Blonde came out in June 2015, three years after Tiger Talk, and it found the Vancouver band leaning into synths, drum machines and dance-floor tempos without losing their guitar-band bones. "Confused" opens on a hook, and "I Wanna Be Your Man" and "Saturday Night" carried it onto radio.

It's a short, tightly built record, ten songs that close on the trio of "Starvation", "Favourite People" and "Jezebel", and it set up the synth-heavy turn the band would push further on Critical Hit.
