Why you'll love it

Dine Alone sent us this test pressing from its vinyl run of How Far Shallow Takes You, a disc that never goes into general sale. The 1998 album gave Gob "What To Do" and "Beauville", and it had sold 20,000 copies in Canada by the end of 1999.

This edition

  • Test pressing from the label's run
  • Packaging differs from the retail edition shown
  • 18 tracks, including the band's take on "Paint It Black"
  • Copies limited
  • Limit 1 per customer.

About the album

How Far Shallow Takes You was the record where Gob found their feet: the first with bassist Craig Wood and drummer Gabe Mantle, and the one that pushed "What To Do" and "Beauville" onto Canadian radio. Eighteen songs, most under two and a half minutes, played with the speed and grin of late-nineties skate punk.

The album closes with a cover of "Paint It Black", first added for the American edition. It is fast, funny and sharper than it lets on.
