Juno-nominated fourth album from Richmond Hill's The Flatliners, thirteen songs of melodic punk produced by Steve Rizun. On New Damage Records.
Dead Language earned The Flatliners a Juno nomination for Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year in 2014. Steve Rizun produced and mixed it, and it runs from "Resuscitation Of The Year" to "Brilliant Resilience" without a wasted minute.
The Flatliners formed in Richmond Hill in 2002, and by their fourth album they had a decade of touring in their legs. Dead Language came out in 2013 on Fat Wreck Chords in the US, with New Damage handling Canada; it is a tougher, darker record than Cavalcade, closer to melodic hardcore in places.
Chris Cresswell's voice carries the hooks through "Birds Of England" and "Caskets Full", while "Dead Hands" and "Young Professionals" blow past in under two minutes each. The Juno nomination that followed put a punk record in a category usually ruled by metal.
