![The Weeknd: Echoes of Silence (2LP 10th Anniversary) [REPUBLIC]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/55855283/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-the-weeknd-echoes-of-silence-2lp-10th-an.jpg)
Toronto star The Weeknd's moody 2011 mixtape Echoes of Silence, 10th anniversary edition on 2LP: "D.D.," "Montreal," "Initiation" and the title track.
Echoes of Silence completed the Toronto star's legendary 2011 trilogy of mixtapes, the dark, atmospheric run that redefined modern R&B.
Made with producer Illangelo, with first-time contributions from Clams Casino and DropXLife, Echoes of Silence follows House of Balloons and Thursday with hazy, cavernous beats and Abel Tesfaye's soaring, haunted falsetto.
It opens with "D.D.," a bold reworking of Michael Jackson's "Dirty Diana," then drifts through the French-tinged "Montreal," the woozy "Initiation," the aching "The Fall" and the gorgeous closing title track.
The completion of the legendary mixtape trilogy, ten years on. Echoes, still echoing.
