Why you'll love it

Miseducation won five Grammys, including Album of the Year, the first hip-hop record ever to take the top prize. Carlos Santana, Mary J. Blige and D'Angelo all drop by, and this 2LP set keeps the hidden closers "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" and "Tell Him."

This edition

  • 2LP set, 16 tracks over four sides
  • Includes "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" and "Tell Him"

About the album

There could be no doubt who was wearing the pants in the Fugees all along once the newly emancipated Lauryn Hill dropped her first (and only) solo album, The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill, in the summer of 1998.

Probably the most acclaimed and most successful record by a female hip-hop artist of all time (although it's not strictly a hip-hop album, dabbling as it does in soul and reggae along the way), Miseducation and its singles "Doo Wop (That Thing)," "Ex-Factor" and "Everything Is Everything" dominated the radio and video airwaves for months and turned Hill into a household name pretty much around the globe. It has sold 20 million copies worldwide and made Hill a superstar. She has never made a studio follow-up. But maybe she simply doesn't want to tarnish The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill's legacy after getting it absolutely perfect the first time out.
