The Weeknd moved from moody mixtape R&B into the pop spotlight on Beauty Behind the Madness, working with Max Martin and others while keeping the dark, cinematic edge that made his name. Guests include Ed Sheeran, Labrinth and Lana Del Rey.
"Can't Feel My Face" is a Michael Jackson-style pop smash, "The Hills" is huge and haunting, "Earned It" is a lush, string-swept slow jam, and "In the Night" and "Often" show off his silky falsetto.
