![Single Mothers: Through A Wall [DINE ALONE]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/77764385/1652x1652x2/dine-alone-promo-single-mothers-through-a-wall-din.jpg)
Single Mothers' JUNO-nominated 2018 surprise album on LP: fourteen tracks including "Dog Parks", "Switch Off" and "Marathon".
Through A Wall earned Single Mothers a nomination for Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year at the 2020 JUNO Awards. The band dropped it as a surprise in September 2018, with a double video for "Dog Parks" and "Switch Off".
Single Mothers put Through A Wall out with no warning in September 2018, barely a year after Our Pleasure. Fourteen songs fly past in quick succession; some, like "24/7" and "Stoic/Pointless", feel like snapshots, while "Tan Line (Like Passing Through A Wall)" gives the album its name and its centre.
Drew Thomson's lyrics are as sharp as ever, but the band behind him hits harder here, which may be why the JUNOs filed it under metal and hard music. It closes on "Evidence Locker", a fitting last word for a record about the things we leave behind.
