Single Mothers' second album on LP, produced by Alexisonfire's Wade MacNeil. Ten tracks including "Leash", "People Are Pets" and "Undercover".
Wade MacNeil of Alexisonfire produced Our Pleasure, and you can hear it in the punch of "Undercover" and "High Speed". It was Single Mothers' second album, and Dine Alone issued it across North America in 2017.
Single Mothers began in London, Ontario in 2008, the project of singer Drew Thomson, and by Our Pleasure the band had been through more line-ups than most groups manage in a career. What stayed constant was Thomson's voice: sardonic, wounded, quick with a line about small towns, bad habits and pretentious people.
Wade MacNeil kept the sound lean and loud. "People Are Pets" and "Leash" stretch out past three minutes, but most of the album moves in short, sharp jabs, ending with the tumbling "Bolt Cutters".
