![Persian Underground [COSMIC ROCK]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/60509766/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-persian-underground-cosmic-rock.jpg)
Persian Underground, a dazzling collection of rare Iranian 45s from the 60s and 70s: garage rock, Persian beat, rock and roll and psych.
A treasure chest for crate diggers, gathering some of the rarest Persian 45s ever pressed, including a newly discovered Iranian prog-psych single.
Before 1979, Iran had a thriving rock and pop scene, and this compilation digs deep into its rarest records. Styles range from raw garage rock and cool Persian beat to exotic rock and roll and adventurous prog and psych.
Highlights include Zangoleah, a female drummer and singer delivering standout garage tracks, Takkhalha's cover of the Rolling Stones' "Play with Fire" and their take on the traditional "Mastom, Mastom," plus Saeed and Tigers, Big Boys and the Kambiz 45, one of the few true Persian prog-psych singles ever made. Prepare to dance.
