![Stromae: Racine carrée (2LP) [MOSAERT / POLYDOR]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/75318538/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-stromae-racine-carree-2lp-mosaert-polydo.jpg)
2LP of Belgian star Stromae's 2013 album Racine carrée: "Papaoutai," "Formidable," "Tous les mêmes" and "Ta fête."
Racine carrée sold millions across Europe and made Stromae a global star. "Papaoutai" and "Formidable" are two of the biggest French-language hits of the century.
Paul Van Haver, the Brussels-born singer and producer known as Stromae, recorded his second album in an attic studio and filled it with infectious beats: '90s Eurodance, Congolese rumba, Cape Verdean morna and hip hop, all carrying sharp, witty French lyrics about modern life, love and family.
"Papaoutai" is a dance-floor smash with a big heart, "Formidable" is a stunning piano-led showcase, "Tous les mêmes" is a playful battle of the sexes, and "Ave Cesaria" is a sweet tribute to Cesária Évora. You don't need to speak French to fall for it.
