![Parliament: Mothership Connection [CASABLANCA]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/33628497/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-parliament-mothership-connection-casabla.jpg)
Parliament's 1975 P-Funk masterpiece Mothership Connection: "Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof off the Sucker)," "P. Funk (Wants to Get Funked Up)" and the title track.
Mothership Connection is often rated the best of all the Parliament-Funkadelic albums, and became Parliament's first gold and then platinum record.
George Clinton's Parliament landed the Mothership in 1975 with this space-age concept album, the first to feature horn legends Maceo Parker and Fred Wesley from James Brown's band alongside Bootsy Collins and Bernie Worrell.
"P. Funk (Wants to Get Funked Up)" opens the party, "Mothership Connection (Star Child)" and "Supergroovalisticprosifunkstication" keep it in orbit, and "Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof off the Sucker)" is one of the most sampled grooves in hip hop. Pure funk joy.
