About the album

Recorded in New York with longtime co-producer Tony Visconti and a band of local jazz musicians, including saxophonist Donny McCaslin, keyboardist Jason Lindner, bassist Tim Lefebvre and drummer Mark Guiliana, Blackstar is restless, inventive and beautifully played.

The ten-minute title track is mysterious and hypnotic, "Lazarus" is haunting and gorgeous, "Sue (Or in a Season of Crime)" is thrilling and wild, and "I Can't Give Everything Away" is a soaring, luminous closer.

Ten minutes for the title track; we'd recommend not rushing the rest either.
