David Bowie's 1977 Berlin Trilogy opener Low, made with Brian Eno and Tony Visconti: "Sound and Vision," "Speed of Life," "Be My Wife" and "Warszawa." 2017 remaster.
Low is one of Bowie's most influential albums, splitting into a side of fractured art-pop songs and a side of haunting ambient instrumentals that shaped post-punk and electronic music for decades.
The first of three collaborations with Tony Visconti and Brian Eno later known as the Berlin Trilogy, Low began in France in 1976 and took shape in Berlin. Visconti's famous Eventide Harmonizer drum sound and Eno's synth textures made it sound like nothing else at the time.
Side one is packed with brief, brilliant songs like "Sound and Vision," "Breaking Glass" and "Be My Wife," while side two drifts into the beautiful, atmospheric instrumentals "Warszawa," "Art Decade," "Weeping Wall" and "Subterraneans."
