David Bowie's 1977 Berlin album "Heroes," made with Brian Eno and Tony Visconti, featuring Robert Fripp: "Heroes," "Beauty and the Beast," "Joe the Lion" and "V-2 Schneider." 2017 remaster.
"Heroes" is the only one of Bowie's Berlin Trilogy recorded entirely in Berlin, and its title track is one of the most powerful, uplifting songs in rock.
Recorded at Hansa Studios near the Berlin Wall, "Heroes" pairs Bowie with Brian Eno and Tony Visconti again, with King Crimson's Robert Fripp adding searing, sustaining guitar. Like Low, it splits between bold art-rock songs and atmospheric instrumentals.
The title track is an anthem for the ages, "Beauty and the Beast" and "Joe the Lion" are thrillingly urgent, "V-2 Schneider" nods to Kraftwerk, and "Sense of Doubt," "Moss Garden" and "Neuköln" are haunting and beautiful.
