David Bowie's 1972 glam-rock landmark with the Spiders from Mars: "Starman," "Moonage Daydream," "Suffragette City" and "Ziggy Stardust." Remastered.
On order
Ziggy Stardust is the album that made David Bowie a superstar: a rock 'n' roll space opera with "Five Years," "Starman" and "Rock 'n' Roll Suicide," and Mick Ronson's guitar all over it.
The world has five years left, and a bisexual alien rock star named Ziggy Stardust lands to deliver a message of hope before fame and rock 'n' roll eat him alive. That's the loose concept behind David Bowie's fifth album, the record that finally made him a star after years of near misses.
Cut at Trident Studios in London with Mick Ronson, Trevor Bolder and Mick Woodmansey (the Spiders from Mars), and co-produced by Bowie and Ken Scott, it's all glam swagger and big, heartbreaking tunes. Bowie's "Starman" performance on Top of the Pops in July 1972 inspired a generation of British kids to start bands, and "Moonage Daydream," "Hang On to Yourself" and "Suffragette City" still crackle more than 50 years later.
