About the album

Geogaddi runs to exactly 66 minutes and 6 seconds, and that's just the first of its secrets. Marcus Eoin and Michael Sandison built it over two years at their Hexagon Sun studio in Scotland's Pentland Hills, threading in backmasked voices, hidden numbers and half-heard messages.

It's darker than Music Has the Right to Children, but just as beautiful. "Music Is Math" pulses with wonky melody, "Dawn Chorus" glows like a warped home movie, "Julie and Candy" and "Sunshine Recorder" drift in nostalgic haze, and tiny interludes like "The Smallest Weird Number" keep you guessing.

Critics ranked it among the best albums of 2002, and it has grown in stature ever since. It's the kind of record you can lose yourself in for a whole evening, so plan accordingly.
