About the album

Most greatest-hits albums are picked by a label. Björk handed the job to her fans, who voted on her website for their favourite singles, and the record runs in order of the votes, from "All Is Full of Love" at the top down the list. The one exception is "It's in Our Hands," a new song she put at the end.

It's a tour of her first four solo albums. "Human Behaviour," "Big Time Sensuality" and "Venus as a Boy" come from Debut, "Hyperballad," "Army of Me," "Isobel" and "Possibly Maybe" from Post, "Jóga," "Bachelorette" and "Hunter" from Homogenic, and "Pagan Poetry" and "Hidden Place" from Vespertine. Several appear in their single mixes: the Fluke version of "Big Time Sensuality" from the video, the full electronic "Possibly Maybe" and the single edit of "All Is Full of Love," with "Play Dead" from the Young Americans soundtrack too.

The artwork was made with Icelandic artist Gabríela Friðriksdóttir. Letting the fans pick the songs is a lovely idea; we tried it with the staff picks shelf once, and it ended in a recount.
