About the album

Vermont's Noah Kahan has amassed nearly 15 billion global streams, two Grammy nominations and a shelf of Platinum and Gold plaques, much of it thanks to 2022's Stick Season, the 4x Platinum breakthrough whose title track hit No. 1 across North America, the U.K. and Europe and kept the album in the Top 15 more than three years on.

The Great Divide, his fourth album, was written in the wake of that rapid rise, "next to a piano in Nashville, next to a pond in Guilford Vermont," as he put it, and finds Kahan at his most honest and reflective: wrestling with success, identity, family and distance. Gabe Simon, his Stick Season collaborator, produced it alongside Aaron Dessner (Taylor Swift, Bon Iver), and the songs push Kahan's signature storytelling into bigger, more anthemic territory without losing the plainspoken heart that hooked everybody in the first place.
