Björk's dazzling 1995 second album Post: "Army of Me," "Hyperballad," "Isobel," "Possibly Maybe" and "It's Oh So Quiet."
On order
Post is Björk at her most playful and adventurous, jumping from industrial stomp to big-band swing to lush string ballads. "Army of Me," "Hyperballad" and "It's Oh So Quiet" were all hits.
After Debut made her an international star, Björk moved to London and threw herself into the city's club and electronic scene. Post is the sound of that excitement: she worked with Nellee Hooper, Tricky, Howie B and 808 State's Graham Massey, and the record pinballs between styles with complete confidence.
"Army of Me" is pounding and menacing, "Hyperballad" is a gorgeous, heart-racing electronic love song, "Isobel" sweeps in on Eumir Deodato's strings, and her wild cover of the old Betty Hutton number "It's Oh So Quiet" became one of her biggest UK hits. Post still sounds like the future, three decades on.
