Troye Sivan: Something To Give Each Other [CAPITOL]

Why you'll love it

Something to Give Each Other topped the ARIA chart and won Album of the Year at the 2024 ARIA Music Awards. "Rush" and "Got Me Started" earned Sivan his first Grammy nominations, and the album reached No. 1 on the US Dance/Electronic Albums chart.

About the album

Five years is a long gap in pop, and Troye Sivan spent it making a record about the good bits. He worked on the album in between touring Bloom and starring in The Idol, and described it as his something to give the listener, a record of dancefloors, crushes, weekends and friendship.

"Rush" kicks the door open with a sweaty, full-throttle house beat, "Got Me Started" builds into a glittering club track, and "One of Your Girls" slows things down into a sly, aching ballad. "Can't Go Back, Baby" and "Still Got It" lean into heartbreak, "What's the Time Where You Are?" carries a long-distance ache, and "Honey" glows on the second side. The production is warm and sticky, built for both headphones and the club, and Spanish musician Guitarricadelafuente joins him on "How to Stay with You."

It also reached the top ten in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and New Zealand, and launched the Something to Give Each Other Tour across 2024, where the songs got even bigger. The party, it turns out, goes on rather longer than the Uber was booked for.
