Bruno Mars: The Romantic (translucent red vinyl, indie exclusive) [ATLANTIC]

Why you'll love it

The Romantic went to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and in Canada, and lead single "I Just Might" debuted at the top of the Hot 100. It's his first solo album since 24K Magic, made with Silk Sonic co-pilot D'Mile, and this pressing is an indie-store exclusive.

About the album

Nine years is a long time between solo records, but Bruno Mars wasn't exactly idle: there was the small matter of Silk Sonic, a Vegas residency and a stack of Grammys. The Romantic finds him back on his own, and in no mood to waste your time: nine songs, 31 minutes, zero guest spots and not an ounce of filler.

He made it mostly with D'Mile (the producer behind An Evening With Silk Sonic) plus old pals Philip Lawrence, Brody Brown and James Fauntleroy, and the vibe is pure, unashamed romance: silky slow jams, shimmying dance numbers and that voice front and centre. It went to No. 1 here in Canada and in the U.S., and the Romantic Tour packed stadiums all summer. Some guys just have it.
