About the album

Chappell Roan and her handlers did the right thing with her brash, brightly hued 2023 debut album: they let The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess breathe for a year until its growing "cult" following tipped over into runaway mainstream success.

Roan now moves records at a pace to rival even Taylor Swift, thanks mainly to an undeniable arsenal of sharp-witted pop tunes like "Red Wine Supernova" and "HOT TO GO!" that celebrate her queerness in a humorous and highly positive light, but also to a larger-than-life stage presence inspired by her fascination with drag-queen culture. She's the real deal on delivery, and it's hard to believe this Missouri "princess" is just getting started here. But if the best is yet to come, The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess is still a pretty fine place to start. We at Kops can hardly keep pace with demand for this album. And that makes us happy 'cause it's a good one.
