Bruno Mars: The Romantic [ATLANTIC]

Why you'll love it

The Romantic is Bruno's first solo album since 24K Magic and his first record of any kind since Silk Sonic, nine songs and 31 minutes with no filler and no features. It's all Bruno, and that's the point.

This edition

• Single LP, 9 tracks
• Atlantic pressing
• Written and produced with D'Mile, Philip Lawrence, Brody Brown and James Fauntleroy

About the album

Nine years is an eternity in pop, but Bruno Mars was never exactly gone: there was the Silk Sonic detour with Anderson .Paak, a string of duets and a Las Vegas residency that never seemed to end. The Romantic is his proper return, and it's a lean, focused, unashamedly lovestruck record: nine songs in a little over half an hour, no guest stars, just Bruno in full crooner-showman mode.

He made it mostly with D'Mile, the producer who helped give Silk Sonic its plush '70s sheen, and with old friends Philip Lawrence, Brody Brown and James Fauntleroy, so the craftsmanship is a given. "I Just Might" and "Risk It All" are the singles, but this is an album that rewards a front-to-back listen with someone you like.
