The Transformers: The Movie soundtrack re-recorded for its 40th anniversary on Energon pink vinyl, with Stan Bush's new "The Touch" and Sebastian Bach on "Nothin's Gonna Stand In Our Way."
This limited edition comes on Energon pink vinyl. Hasbro and Reigning Phoenix Music had the whole 1986 soundtrack re-recorded by the Knights of Unicron, with Stan Bush, composer Vince DiCola and Sebastian Bach back in the mix.
The 1986 cartoon movie gave a generation of kids their first heavy metal record, whether their parents noticed or not. For the film's 40th anniversary, Hasbro put together its own in-house band, the Knights of Unicron, with Matt Harvey and Ross Sewage of Exhumed and Gus Rios of Gruesome, to rebuild the soundtrack from the ground up.
Stan Bush returns to record new versions of "The Touch" and "Dare," the latter with original composer Vince DiCola, who also revisits his "Death Of Optimus Prime." Sebastian Bach takes on Spectre General's "Nothin's Gonna Stand In Our Way," Brittney Slayes of Unleash the Archers sings Lion's "The Transformers (Theme)," Mark Osegueda of Death Angel tackles "Hunger," and Francesco Cavalieri fronts N.R.G.'s "Instruments Of Destruction." The Knights charge through DiCola's "Escape" and "Autobot/Decepticon Battle," and Torch of Cold Slither has the honour of "Dare To Be Stupid."
"The Touch" has long been a fixture of the fandom. The new versions keep the original running order and the big 80s choruses, just with heavier guitars. This time round it comes in Energon pink, which, we're reliably informed, is exactly the right colour.
