About the album

Shrek changed animated movies forever, and its soundtrack was a big part of the fun: instead of a Broadway-style score, DreamWorks filled the film with pop and rock songs that made kids and parents sing along together.

Smash Mouth's "All Star" and their cover of the Monkees' "I'm a Believer" bookend the film, Rufus Wainwright's "Hallelujah" provides the tearjerker moment, and Joan Jett's "Bad Reputation," Eels' "My Beloved Monster" and the Proclaimers' "I'm on My Way" round it out. A nostalgic blast for millennials everywhere.
