Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction soundtrack: Dick Dale's "Misirlou," "Son of a Preacher Man," "Let's Stay Together" and "Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon."
The Pulp Fiction soundtrack sold millions and made surf rock cool all over again. It's one of the most famous movie soundtracks ever, dialogue and all.
Quentin Tarantino didn't commission a score for Pulp Fiction. Instead, he raided his record collection for surf rock, soul, rock and roll and pop, and the result became as iconic as the movie itself. The album strings the songs together with classic snippets of dialogue from Samuel L. Jackson, John Travolta and company.
Dick Dale's "Misirlou" roars in after Pumpkin and Honey Bunny's diner hold-up, and from there it's hit after hit: Kool & the Gang's "Jungle Boogie," Al Green's "Let's Stay Together," Dusty Springfield's "Son of a Preacher Man," Chuck Berry's "You Never Can Tell" and Urge Overkill's cover of "Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon."
