![The Smashing Pumpkins: Machina/The Machines of God (2LP, 25th Anniversary) [HIP-O]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/71531832/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-the-smashing-pumpkins-machina-the-machin.jpg)
Smashing Pumpkins' 2000 concept album Machina/The Machines of God on 2LP for its 25th anniversary: "Stand Inside Your Love," "The Everlasting Gaze" and "Try, Try, Try."
Machina marked Jimmy Chamberlin's return behind the kit and is a big, loud, ambitious Pumpkins record that fans have come to treasure.
Billy Corgan conceived Machina/The Machines of God as a rock opera about a rock star named Glass, and with Chamberlin back in the band the Pumpkins returned to towering, distorted guitars blended with the electronic textures they'd explored on Adore.
"The Everlasting Gaze" is a ferocious opener, "Stand Inside Your Love" is a lush, romantic single, "Try, Try, Try" is tender and soaring, and "Glass and the Ghost Children" and "Heavy Metal Machine" go big and heavy.
