About the album

Billy Corgan wanted to make The Wall for Generation X, and with producers Flood and Alan Moulder he pulled it off: two hours and 28 songs that swing from orchestral grandeur to metal fury, gentle acoustic lullabies and synth-pop shimmer, all loosely framed around a day and a night in the life of a heartbroken kid.

"Tonight, Tonight" sweeps in on a real string section, "Bullet with Butterfly Wings" ("the world is a vampire") roars, "1979" is pure, nostalgic perfection, and "Zero," "Thirty-Three" and "Muzzle" round out an incredible run of singles. It went to No. 1 in the US and became the best-selling double album of the decade. Here it comes in a four-LP box.
