![The Smashing Pumpkins: Gish [VIRGIN]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/33633471/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-the-smashing-pumpkins-gish-virgin.jpg)
Smashing Pumpkins' 1991 debut Gish, produced by Butch Vig and Billy Corgan: "Rhinoceros," "I Am One," "Siva" and "Tristessa."
Gish introduced the Smashing Pumpkins' blend of heavy psychedelic rock, dreamy shoegaze and soaring melody, and it remains one of the great alternative debuts.
Billy Corgan, James Iha, D'arcy Wretzky and Jimmy Chamberlin made Gish with Butch Vig in Madison, Wisconsin, layering huge, fuzzed-out guitars, Chamberlin's jazz-trained drumming and Corgan's dreamy, spiritual songwriting.
"Rhinoceros" builds into a gorgeous, swirling epic, "I Am One" and "Siva" hit hard, "Tristessa" is a punchy single, and "Snail" and "Daydream" are dreamy and beautiful.
