The 2011 third album from Selena Gomez & The Scene, with "Who Says," "Love You Like A Love Song" and "Hit The Lights."
When The Sun Goes Down is the third and last album from Selena Gomez & The Scene, and it debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 before climbing to No. 3. Lead single "Who Says" went platinum in the US.
Selena Gomez had told interviewers she was in no rush to make another album. Then she heard "Who Says," called it amazing and changed her mind on the spot. The result was the band's sharpest, most confident record, made with returning producers Rock Mafia and a few new friends.
Katy Perry co-wrote "That's More Like It," Britney Spears contributed "Whiplash," and Rock Mafia's Tim James and Antonina Armato steered the big singles. "Love You Like A Love Song" is a glittering synth-pop earworm, "Who Says" a sunny acoustic pep talk, and "Hit The Lights" closes the run of singles on a dance-floor high. The album even ends with "Dices," a Spanish-language take on "Who Says." Toby Gad and Sandy Vee were among the new names on the credits.
It has sold more than 710,000 copies in the US, and "Love You Like A Love Song" still fills dance floors at weddings and school gyms alike. Somewhere, a DJ is playing it right now. Probably twice.
