About the album

More than ten years before the term neo-soul caught on, Sade were making music that blended modern production with down-tempo soul, funk and jazz roots. Stronger Than Pride took their sound to the next level, written and recorded over a year in London, Spain, France and the Bahamas. The music is loose and relaxed, yet it grooves with the utmost precision.

"Paradise" is a silky, irresistible groove, the title track is gorgeous, "Nothing Can Come Between Us" glides beautifully, and "Siempre Hay Esperanza" closes on a hopeful note. This edition recreates the original packaging and was half-speed mastered at Abbey Road.
