About the album

Here's a fun bit of Canadian rock history: in 1975 Rush were in trouble, with poor sales and their label thinking about dropping them. Instead of writing radio hits, Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart doubled down, filling side one with a 20-minute futuristic epic about a world without music.

"2112" sweeps from "Overture" and "The Temples of Syrinx" to "Discovery" and "Grand Finale," bursting with Lifeson's riffs and Peart's thunderous drums, while side two shows off their hard rock roots with "A Passage to Bangkok" and the heartfelt "Tears."

It reached No. 5 in Canada and has sold steadily for decades, a fine gift for the Rush devotee in your life (or in your mirror).
