Gord Downie and the Tragically Hip went absolutely stratospheric, at least in their native Canada, with 1992's Fully Completely.
Fully Completely sold a million copies in Canada alone and gave us "Courage," "At the Hundredth Meridian," "Locked in the Trunk of a Car," "Fifty Mission Cap" and "Wheat Kings." Canadian radio still plays these every single day, and this pressing carries the 2014 remaster.
Fully Completely was meant to be the Tragically Hip's big-budget international breakthrough and, while that might not have happened, it certainly proved the record that turned the Kingston, Ontario, quintet into probably the most beloved Canadian band in history.
This thing was an absolutely massive record. It solidified the Hip as a bona fide arena act, properly announced the arrival of the late Gord Downie as a poetic songwriting force to be reckoned with, spawned six hit singles ("Locked In The Trunk Of A Car," "Fifty Mission Cap" and "At The Hundredth Meridian" among them) that still get played on radio every single day and sold a million copies in Canada alone. What more is there to say, really? There's not a person in Canada unaware of Fully Completely. The rest of the planet can catch up any time.
