About the album

Fresh off the road behind Fly by Night, Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart went straight back into the studio and swung for the fences. Caress of Steel moves from the hard rock of their debut into full-on progressive rock, with Peart's fantasy-tinged lyrics and two sprawling multi-part epics.

"Bastille Day" is a blistering opener, "Lakeside Park" is a nostalgic ode to Port Dalhousie, Ontario, and "The Necromancer" and the 20-minute "The Fountain of Lamneth" are ambitious, wonderfully strange journeys. A must for any Rush fan's shelf.
