About the album

Austin Post titled his fifth album after his own first name, which tells you most of what you need to know. After years of trap beats and hip-hop hooks, he picked up a guitar, played it on every track and made the most personal record of his career, calling it the most challenging and rewarding music he'd ever made.

He produced it with Andrew Watt and Louis Bell, with Max Martin and Rami Yacoub stopping by. "Chemical" is a big, hooky pop-rock single, "Mourning" glides on a bright, melancholy groove, and "Overdrive" and "Speedometer" hit the gas, while "Something Real" and "Enough Is Enough" let his voice carry the weight. AllMusic praised how fearless he sounds. The If Y'all Weren't Here, I'd Be Crying Tour took the songs around the world later that year, and they've held up nicely as his most personal set.

It's seventeen songs of melodic, heartfelt alt-pop that suits a long drive with the windows down. It's also his first album without a single guest feature, so for once the credits would fit on a sticky note.
