Pink Floyd's 1983 album The Final Cut, Roger Waters' powerful, reflective follow-up to The Wall: "Not Now John," "The Gunner's Dream" and "The Fletcher Memorial Home."
The Final Cut is Pink Floyd's most personal and politically charged record, a cult favourite featuring some of Roger Waters' finest songwriting and David Gilmour's soaring guitar.
Written largely by Roger Waters and dedicated to his father, The Final Cut grew out of songs left over from The Wall and new material, becoming a moving, orchestral meditation on post-war Britain. Michael Kamen's arrangements and Gilmour's guitar give it a rich, cinematic sweep.
"The Gunner's Dream" is a stirring highlight with a stunning saxophone solo, "Not Now John" rocks hard with Gilmour on lead vocals, "Your Possible Pasts" is grand and atmospheric, and "Two Suns in the Sunset" closes the album with quiet power.
