2018 remix of Pink Floyd's 1977 masterpiece Animals on 180g vinyl with a 28-page booklet: "Dogs," "Pigs (Three Different Ones)" and "Sheep."
This is the 2018 remix of Animals, with a new gatefold and a 28-page booklet. The album, famous for the flying pig over Battersea Power Station, reached No. 2 in the UK and No. 3 in the US and many fans call it Pink Floyd's best.
Between Wish You Were Here and The Wall, Pink Floyd made their angriest, most guitar-driven record. Recorded at their own new Britannia Row studio in London, Animals takes George Orwell's Animal Farm as a jumping-off point and turns it on 1970s Britain: the ruthless dogs, the hypocritical pigs and the sheep who follow.
There are only five songs, and three of them are long, snarling epics: "Dogs" (17 minutes of David Gilmour at his most savage), "Pigs (Three Different Ones)" and "Sheep," bookended by Roger Waters' tender acoustic "Pigs on the Wing." The cover, an inflatable pig floating between the chimneys of Battersea Power Station, is one of rock's great images. The 2018 remix sharpens it all up.
