Pink Floyd's 1995 live album Pulse as a 4LP box set on 180g vinyl, with a 52-page hardback book and The Dark Side of the Moon played in full.
This 4LP box is remastered from the original analogue tapes, on 180g vinyl in a hard slipcase with a 52-page hardback photo book, and it adds "One Of These Days" as a vinyl bonus. Pulse debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and went double platinum.
Some live albums capture a band on a good night. Pulse captures Pink Floyd on a run of them, recorded across the European leg of the 1994 Division Bell Tour with a mobile studio parked outside. David Gilmour and James Guthrie produced it, and nothing went back into the studio for re-recording; they simply picked the best performances from a tour's worth of shows.
The headline is The Dark Side of the Moon played start to finish, from "Speak To Me" and "Breathe" through "Time," "The Great Gig In The Sky" and "Money" to "Eclipse." Around it sit "Shine On You Crazy Diamond," a rare outing for Syd Barrett's "Astronomy Domine," Division Bell favourites "High Hopes" and "Keep Talking," and a closing run of "Wish You Were Here," "Comfortably Numb" and "Run Like Hell" that would make any stadium sit down and stand up again. The mix used QSound, built to throw a 3D image even through two speakers.
The original CD came in a case with a red LED that blinked on the spine, Storm Thorgerson's idea of a box that was alive. The vinyl box does not blink. We've checked. Twice.
