About the album

The Later Years covers Pink Floyd's David Gilmour-led era, from A Momentary Lapse of Reason through The Division Bell, and this set picks the highlights from the big box. For the remixes, Nick Mason recut drum parts and more of Richard Wright's keyboards were brought forward, restoring what the band called the creative balance between the three members.

Side A opens with "Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Parts 1-5" from Knebworth 1990, then "Marooned Jam" from The Division Bell sessions and a 2019 remix of "One Slip." "Us and Them," "Learning to Fly" and "Run Like Hell" come from the remixed Delicate Sound of Thunder, "Lost for Words" is a Pulse tour rehearsal, and an early version of "High Hopes" shows the song taking shape.

It's the gateway to a period of Pink Floyd plenty of fans grew up on, from stadium lasers to the Knebworth stage. Consider it the tasting menu; the full box costs rather more and requires a reinforced shelf.
