About the album

After The Truth About Love, P!nk did something pop stars rarely manage: she took a proper break. The new songs came together slowly over three years from 2015, and she brought in a small army of heavy-hitting producers to help, including Greg Kurstin, Max Martin, Jack Antonoff and Shellback, with she and longtime manager Roger Davies as executive producers.

It's a big, warm pop record with touches of EDM and folk, about love, heartbreak and the push and pull of real life. "What About Us" is a soaring anthem that topped the charts in eight countries, the title track is a punchy, theatrical opener, "Whatever You Want" rolls along on a big, warm chorus, and "Secrets" and "Barbies" show off her range from swagger to tenderness. "Where We Go" and "Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken" help fill out four generous sides.

The Beautiful Trauma World Tour that followed ran from March 2018 to November 2019 and grossed over $390 million. Somebody, somewhere, bought an awful lot of tour T-shirts.
