No Doubt's hits collection The Singles 1992-2003 as a 2LP set on 180g vinyl with a 12x12 booklet, with "Just a Girl," "Don't Speak" and "Hey Baby."
The first 180g 2LP pressing of the collection, with a 12x12 booklet. It debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and went double platinum in the U.S., the UK and Canada.
In April 2003 No Doubt took a breather so Gwen Stefani could start her solo project, and before they went, they gathered up the singles. This set pulls from Tragic Kingdom, Return of Saturn and Rock Steady, with "Trapped in a Box" from the 1992 debut, and it plays front to back like a proper album. Stefani, Tony Kanal, Tom Dumont and Adrian Young had grown from an Anaheim ska band into one of the biggest acts in the world over those years, and you can hear every step.
There's "Don't Speak," the breakup ballad that ruled the radio for what felt like a year, the ska-punk bounce of "Spiderwebs," the brassy "Bathwater," the electro strut of "Hella Good" and the easy groove of "Underneath It All." The band regrouped that September to cut one new recording with producer Nellee Hooper, a cover of Talk Talk's 1984 "It's My Life," and it earned a Grammy nomination.
For anyone who wore out a Tragic Kingdom cassette, it's the No Doubt record to keep within arm's reach of the turntable. Gwen Stefani sang that she was "Just a Girl" in 1995; the eight years collected here suggest that was the understatement of the decade.
