About the album

Elfman wrote the songs and score and sang as Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town who stumbles into Christmas Town, with Catherine O'Hara as Sally and Ken Page as Oogie Boogie. The score earned a Golden Globe nomination.

"This Is Halloween" is a ghoulish anthem, "What's This?" bursts with wonder, "Jack's Lament" is grand and wistful, "Oogie Boogie's Song" swings with menace, and "Sally's Song" is hauntingly lovely.

Needle down, and the room gets very slightly spooky. A pumpkin nearby completes the effect.
